About EarthEvent

One globe. Swipe to spin, pinch to zoom, tap anywhere for the weather there.

Every layer has a Learn button that explains what you are seeing and where the data comes from.

Learn has 25 short lessons with predictions and check questions, and notes for teachers. This website lets you read all of them and play many of them in the browser. Live alerts and more are in the app.

Privacy

This website has no accounts, no cookies and no analytics or advertising. To draw the globe, your browser asks this site (earth.traland.com, which also relays satellite, aurora and space-weather data from our server), USGS, NASA GIBS and OpenFreeMap for data. Each of them sees your IP address and browser type, as with any web request. Nothing a student answers is stored or sent. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, and our web server keeps standard access logs for security and troubleshooting.
